Rob Nelson holds nearly 4-decades of leadership in the mortgage industry, with vast experience in sales, operations and performance coaching. Prior to coming to Pinnacle Home Loan he was the Founder, Owner and CEO of National Preferred Mortgage, a real estate finance company with over $1 billion in personal mortgage originations.

Nelson has become known locally for his hosting of “Be a Beast” on Nelson Radio. The show’s focus is on developing mental performance in both sports and business, “…from the locker room to the boardroom.” Nelson’s focus and training as a professional tennis player and top producer have provided the perfect backdrop for his work as a performance coach across multiple industries.

In his formative years, Nelson attended UC Irvine and graduated with a Bachelor’s Degree in English. After graduating, he competed on the ATP Tour, establishing a world ranking in both singles and doubles. His tenacity and incredible work ethic soon left Nelson wanting more, and he started his climb to the top of the mortgage industry.

After founding several successful companies, Nelson also served his alma mater as the Director of Business Development for U.C. Irvine Athletics. Outside of work, Nelson enjoys spending time with his wife and 2 children in Laguna Beach. An avid cyclist, Nelson and his son recently set a world record as the first Father-Son Team to mountain bike Mount Kilimanjaro. He also is engaged in several charities including World Vision, Treasures of Africa, and serves as a Pastor with FaithQuest Ministries.
