Branch Manager | Mortgage Advisor | MLO #235803
Sam has been a leading Loan Advisor in the East Bay since 2003. Sam opened the Kensington/Berkeley branch of Pinnacle Capital Mortgage in 2014 and has been recognized as one of the top Loan Advisors in the Bay Area the past three years, earning President’s Club recognition each year. With two full-time Loan Coordinators on his team and the best processing team in the business, Sam is perfectly positioned to help his clients navigate the most competitive purchase market in the country. For Sam, the greatest reward is forming long lasting relationships with his clients and welcoming them to the East Bay community.
Prior to his lending career, Sam taught English in France for two years and then worked for a quantitative portfolio management consulting firm in Berkeley. His background in education and finance enables him to expertly explain the nuances of financing choices and clearly articulate the home lending process. Sam graduated Summa Cum Laude with Highest Honors from Brandeis University in Boston.
Sam has lived in the East Bay since 1983, except for periods of time in college and France, and appreciates its unique lifestyle and cultural diversity. He is deeply involved in the community, volunteering at the Ecole Bilinge de Berkeley where his daughters attended school as well as coaching youth soccer. He was a member of the City of El Cerrito’s Environmental Quality Committee for six years, where he assisted with environmental policy and organizing Green events in the city. He and his wife are members of many environmental organizations such as the Sierra Club, Natural Resources Defense Council, Friends of Five Creeks (a local Creek advocacy group), and others. Sam loves spending time with his wife Catherine, two daughters, and dog Spencer, and exploring the great natural treasures of California as an avid hiker, cyclist and skier. He also has lived in France and enjoys returning there almost every year, as well as a great French novel and glass of wine.
